April Interior Design Mood board

Homely Design Studios April Moodboard

And we are back with our monthly Moodboards! We have been using these as an opportunity to design every lovely clients home. So, for our April Moodboard, we thought no better space to focus on then is our recent client’s patio as we have been starting to spend a lot of time working it out there (I have the bug bites to prove it).

Client has pretty decent front patio and they love everything black and white. They want it really comfortable and cozy that they can sit and hang out in the evenings.

To further inspire you, here’s what we’ve carried out.

Coastal Glam Living Room | Mood Board Design

I have been seeing coastal look for a while and thought I would do my own take on the style. I like elements such as the neutral colors with accents here and there in either a definite texture (rope  or driftwood) or a color (indigo). I like the glamorous style of shiny mirrored finishes and the luxurious materials, so I decided to combine the two.

My advice in decorating a room like this, is to begin with one eye-catching element as a focal point and decorate around it bringing in the colors, textures, pattern, and style that you love!

What do you think?  Would you try it in your own home?

Do you have an idea, inspiration, or challenge for a room mood board, describe it in the comments and I will see what I can come up.

Happy Decorating!

Mood board: Scandinavian Interior Design

Scandinavian interior design still is one of the most popular styles that are not only used for private spaces but also for public interiors. If you enjoy minimal as minimal can be, sparing use of color and pattern, polished, streamlined surfaces, and perhaps an organic shape or two for interest then Scandinavian interior design is for you. Here is an inspiration mood board of Scandi style.

Pro Tip: Incorporate plenty of texture to keep your home from feeling too cold.

  • Key Elements: Open floor-plan, clean-lines, emphasis on comfort, mixture of polished and natural surfaces, monochromatic color scheme
  • Must-Have Pieces: Streamlined Sofa, Black and White Wall Art, Hair on Hide Rug, Concrete Coffee Table, Globe Pendant Lighting, Womb Chair
  • Plays Well With: Contemporary Eclectic, Rustic, Zen
